What to do this weekend in Liverpool
The sun may have gone in this week but don’t worry, we’ve still got a few ideas for things to do this weekend. Luckily, Liverpool is full of different things happening all year round so you’ll never be bored in this city as long as you know where to find the excitement, and we do.
Eagerly anticipated restaurant ‘Almost Famous’ has opened it’s door in Liverpool this week and is the perfect place to head for an evening of indulgence. And by indulgence we mean giant burgers and chips. Located opposite Santa Chupito’s on Parr Street (just behind Alma De Cuba) is a former garage which now houses the burger joint. With reasonably priced food for the ginormous portions you receive, this is a brilliant student hangout.
If you’re looking for a bargain for your new student home, or just want to try your hand at something crafty, the Summer Arts Market in St. George’s Hall is the place to be. With lots of stalls selling artwork, jewellery, trinkets and textiles, you’ll find lots of unique pieces, perfect for your new abode. There’s also a series of workshops running throughout the weekend meaning you can get crafty with the experts. Think festival crowns, crocheting, photography classes and a tie dye masterclass. The event is running on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm, find more info here.
The zombies are back. 2.8 days later begins it’s reign of terror tonight across the streets of Liverpool and is the perfect way to spend a Friday or Saturday night with a big group of friends. A brilliant piece of street theatre, the event acts like a giant game in which you have to avoid being turned into a zombie. There’s a disco at the end to ensure you make a real night of it too. Find last minute tickets on their website here.
So have fun this weekend! Stuff your faces, spend the day crafting and then pretend you’re zombies come nightfall, perfect.
