Students – Are You Registered To Vote?
Today is National Register to Vote Day, when people across the country are urged to register onto the electoral roll so they can voice their opinion this May.
In 2010, just 44% of all 18-24 year olds voted in the national election. Imagine what an impact could have been made if more had been informed about their choices and urged to fill in their ballot papers!
As a student, you may be able to register to vote in your home town and your student town (Liverpool in our case.)
You will only be able to cast one vote in the general election but can vote in local elections both at home and at your term-time address.
Some Liverpool universities are also offering incentives to vote this week, with Domino’s Pizza and free wristbands being well received so far.
So if you would like to register to vote, follow the link here.
