Best places to head this summer in Liverpool
With the long months of bad weather, the thought of finishing university for the year and sitting in the sun is even more appealing than ever. If you’re stuck in the middle of writing a dissertation and need something to look forward to, our guide to the best places to head to this summer season might just help you to push that last mile.
If your student accommodation is around Sefton Park, you’re in the ideal spot once the sun breaks through the clouds. As Liverpool’s largest park, there is lots going on and it’s the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon with friends once your exams are all finished.
‘Africa Oye’ and the ‘Liverpool Food and Drink’ festival are always favourites in the city for a guaranteed great day out, right on your doorstep! Lark Lane is also right opposite the park so after a relaxing day in the sun, you can pop down for a lovely meal or a drink in one of the many restaurants and bars.
With student housing located in the Smithdown Road area, you’re close enough to Sefton Park too, with Greenbank equally accessible. An extension of city life, this area is also full of bars, restaurants, shops and a gym, so in the summer months you’ll be spoilt for choice with what to do with all your new found free time!
Living in the city centre doesn’t necessarily mean lots of built up areas with no room for relaxing, Liverpool has it all! Abercromby Square, located by the University of Liverpool campus is the perfect place to head when the sun comes out.
You could definitely spend all day in this gorgeous park and handily, there are a few pubs located right by Chavasse Park, located in Liverpool One is also a lovely open space and surrounded by restaurants and bars, you won’t have far to wander after a full day of chilling out.
Princes Park, just on the edge of the city centre in Toxteth is also a great place to head when you have a day free to yourself and don’t forget, the Albert Dock is a lovely place to wander around when the sun’s out, with the added assurance of a bit of shade when it gets too hot!
